TRAINING WORKSHOPS IN THE FAVORITA COMMUNITY – ARAUCÁRIA
INTRODUCTION: The research to which this project is linked, focused on surveying everyday community practices in the Favorita Community in Araucária – PR, seeks to understand the social dynamics and strategies adopted by women leaders of the residents’ association, through the implementation of training workshops, among other activities. AIMS: The main objective of this scientific initiation research is to contribute to the planning, production, and documentation of thematic training workshops in the Favorita Community. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The first methodological step consisted of reading and analyzing all materials produced in the earlier stages of the original project. The workshops were then designed based on the survey of community practices, local knowledge, and possible community demands. Field diaries were produced for each activity conducted. RESULTS: In the current stage, one social cartography workshop was held, along with two meetings with community leaders and five social media posts publicizing the project’s research and extension activities. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: From the study carried out, it was possible to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between community and city, as well as to recognize the central role of women in community leadership dynamics, as exemplified by Dona Conceição and Thaíse. These leaders face daily challenges in a context marked by the absence of public policies and precarious basic services. The project values local knowledge and highlights the importance of listening and collaboration to strengthen the Favorita Community. Building a fairer and more inclusive urbanism requires valuing invisible everyday experiences and is directly linked to the struggle for social justice and gender equality.
