INTRODUCTION: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), intensified by decades of antibiotic misuse across clinical and agricultural settings, constitutes a major global health threat in 2025. Addressing this escalating crisis requires urgent, multifaceted public health interventions. Although AMR can occur naturally, human action has significantly intensified this problem through the years. AIMS: In response, and in alignment with the principles of knowledge democratization and the right to accessible public health information, this project developed two targeted educational campaigns: one for high school students and another for healthcare professionals in hospitals. These campaigns were based in a preliminary pilot study that occurred among students at the School of Medicine and Life Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) in 2023-2024 about the correct use of antibiotics and the antimicrobial resistance, which guided the refinement of content, pedagogical strategies, and methodological frameworks to ensure contextual relevance and potential impact. MATERIALS AND METHODS: To evaluate the campaigns’ effectiveness and ensure appropriate intervention to address participants’ knowledge gaps, pre- and post-intervention questionnaires were adapted from the pilot study and standardized to assess baseline knowledge and measure learning outcomes. The campaign strategy combined physical materials (folders, banners, buttons) with digital tools (web platforms, multimedia content), besides classes and lectures to maximize engagement. RESULTS: It is expected that after the application of the campaigns there will be an increase in the participants’ understanding of AMR principles and the responsible use of antimicrobials. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The initiative seeks to achieve behavioral change and strengthen antimicrobial stewardship, contributing meaningfully to global and national efforts to contain the spread of antimicrobial resistance.
