INTRODUCTION: Ecofeminist theology emerges as a profound and necessary response to the interconnection between the marginalization of women and environmental degradation. It is based on the premise that the impoverishment, exclusion, and exploitation of women are not isolated phenomena, but are intrinsically linked to processes of environmental deterioration. By emphasizing the contribution of Latin American women dedicated to this theme, ecofeminist theology highlights the importance of perspectives that arise from contexts where the exploitation of nature and the oppression of social groups are historically evident, reinforcing the urgency and relevance of this transformative approach for a more just and sustainable future. AIMS: The aim of this research is to map Latin American and Caribbean women scholars who study ecofeminist theology. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The materials and methods employed were diverse, including bibliographic research. The primary reference was Ivone Gebara’s Ecofeminist Theology, alongside the use of the PUCPR library database to conduct the research and identify authors in Latin America and the Caribbean who work on this theme. RESULTS: The results of the mapping revealed a significant proliferation of academic production in the region, surpassing in number the contributions from other parts of the world. This phenomenon can be attributed to historical and socioeconomic factors, such as the legacy of colonization and the consequent environmental and social exploitation, which disproportionately affect women and impoverished populations in Latin America. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The essence of this theology lies in the perception that the degradation of the female figure and the unrestrained exploitation of natural resources are interconnected by the same logic of patriarchal domination. By unveiling this patriarchal hierarchical structure that permeates society, ecofeminist theology fosters a heightened awareness of the contemporary socio-ecological crisis.
