INTRODUCTION: Antibiotic resistance is occurring worldwide and has compromised the treatment of infectious diseases and slowed other advances in health and medicine. As a result, the World Health Organization (WHO) has made combating resistance a high priority. AIMS: The objective of this study was to search, tabulate, and study the types of questionnaires used in population data collection research to identify the level of knowledge about antimicrobials, comparing their results with those obtained in the WHO questionnaire, discussing the similarity of the papers. MATERIALS AND METHODS: At first, a search for scientific articles was done on the topic of types of questionnaires to identify the level of population knowledge about antimicrobials. Dating the research carried out in the past term, a spreadsheet containing a comparison of the questions asked in the selected articles and the questions in the WHO questionnaire. To complement this material, during this period, a specific analysis of the results was carried out. The focus was on articles that used the WHO questionnaire as a basis, creating a new table. RESULTS: To create the new spreadsheet, the results of the questionnaires applied to each chosen article were specifically analyzed and the more important questions were ranked, taking into account the awareness of a population about the correct use of antibiotics. Also, an analysis of the most frequently asked questions in all articles was done to choose which questions would be included in the table. An analysis of the articles reveals that all initially describe the study population. Finally, it was analyzed whether the questions contained in the selected articles had answers similar to those in the WHO questionnaire. This information is relevant, as the research focused primarily on articles that used the WHO questionnaire as their primary reference. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: It can be seen that antibiotic resistance is an extremely important topic that should be more widely discussed and addressed, regardless of age, social class, education level, or location. This demonstrates the importance of implementing awareness campaigns, such as the one previously carried out by university students.
